GO! Evacuation Guide
Please Leave Early And Save Everyone
In the event of a wildfire or an emergency situation, law enforcement and fire agencies issue evacuation warnings or evacuation orders for impacted areas.
SMC Alert is the primary way Woodside Fire Protection District issues emergency notifications. It is important to know evacuation status definitions.
Evacuation WARNING - warns of potential threat to life and/or property. Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now.
Evacuation ORDER - states that there is an immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to public access.
Shelter In Place - is an order to go indoors. Shut and lock doors and windows. Prepare to self- sustain until further notice and/or contacted by emergency personnel for additional direction.
Zonehaven - Know your zone
San Mateo County has recently developed and began implementing Zonehaven which provides Evacuation notices for a Zone with an EVACUATION STATUS during a wildfire. Mutual aid is essential in fighting wildfire, and by creating a standardized map of zones, first responders can access the same information, no matter where they are responding from.
