Email & Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Our Commitment

WPV-Ready is a community emergency preparedness program serving the Woodside Fire Protection District, operated by Emergency Preparedness in Communities, Inc. (EPiC), a nonprofit organization. We respect your privacy and only send email to people who have explicitly asked to receive it.

How We Collect Email Addresses

Every address on our mailing list was provided to us directly by its owner, through one of the following:

  • Subscribing to WPV-Ready updates on this website
  • Registering for a WPV-Ready class, training, or event
  • Joining a WPV-Ready program such as Nodes or Communicators
  • Contacting us and asking to be kept informed

We never buy, rent, borrow, or scrape email lists.

What We Send

  • Announcements of upcoming preparedness classes, trainings, and community events
  • Registration confirmations and reminders for events you signed up for
  • WPV-Ready program updates (Nodes, Communicators, Firewise)
  • Occasional community emergency preparedness information

Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests are honored promptly, and the address is added to our suppression list so it will not be emailed again. You can also request removal at any time by emailing [email protected].

How We Protect Your Information

  • We never sell, rent, or share your email address or personal information with any third party for their own use.
  • Email is delivered through Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), which processes addresses solely to deliver our messages on our behalf.
  • We collect only the information needed to run our programs: typically your name, email address, and neighborhood.
  • This website does not use advertising trackers and does not sell visitor data.
